Worland, Wyoming is centrally located in the northern portion of Wyoming.

Located 25 miles west of the Big Horns, Worland is a modern western community which offers the "good life" to residents and visitors. The retail businesses provide a mecca of shopping opportunity. Outdoor enthusiasts can choose from golfing our highly rated 18-hole course, or searching a geological site for prehistoric plant fossils. Hunters and fishermen enjoy the area because of the abundant wildlife and fishing opportunities.

The business diversity in Worland continues to out-rank even some larger cities in the state. Ranked the 13th largest city by population, Worland is rich in business climate. Home to many nationally recognized businesses such as Imperial/Holly Sugar, Crown Cork & Seal, Pepsi-Cola and Coors Brewery, Worland boasts a stable and growing business structure which residents are very proud of.

However, as the railroad moved into the area, tracks were laid to the east of the river. The town's founders, eager to benefit from the railroad, agreed a move was necessary. During the winter, town residents slid their homes, businesses and belongings across the frozen Big Horn River and relocated at the town's present site.

The proud heritage of this community can still be seen through the many churches, schools, parks and local hospital. Warm and friendly, Worland is truly a Western town to remember.

Travelers from the east will embark on the Big Horn Mountains via Cloud Peak Sky (U.S. Hwy. 16) after exiting the I-90 corridor in Buffalo. The Big Horns offer the outdoor enthusiast summer activities including: boating, some of the finest fishing around, hiking, picnicking, photography, fossil hunting, camping and peaceful moments in wilderness areas which allow time to contemplate the splendor and beauty of the region.

This is the same land that was precious to the native American: an area the Sioux, Crow and Blackfoot Indians fought for. The highest point, Cloud Peak is located 13,125 feet above sea level.

In the fall and winters months, the mountain land offers pleasant treks by snow machine or by skis, both cross-country and downhill. Prime cross-country ski trails are located nearby at Willow Park.

Wildlife is abundant in the Big Horn Mountains just east of Worland and Ten Sleep Wyoming, and hunting for elk, deer, antelope and bear is a way of life. Wildlife abounds in the region and big game hunting is a popular activity for both locals and nonresident sportsman. Elk, antelope, mule deer and upland game birds represent the diversity of habitat of the region and the options for interested outdoorsmen.
